TransLoc Issues

posted by John Andoh

The COMET currently has 45 vehicles running on AVID 3G devices for TransLoc Rider.  This is old technology that creates intermittent outages as cellular providers are sunsetting the 3G network.  Until The COMET updates these devices, tracking issues will occur on the following buses:

The COMET is reviewing proposals from various vendors to replace the current TransLoc Rider system and once a decision is made, The COMET will transition all AVL tracking units to the new system.  If your bus number is not listed above, then it has the new Sierra 50 4G or MP 70 device (The COMET has over 10 vehicles tracking on these).

We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause.
