GTFS/Scheduled Service Data

A GTFS feed, which contains static transit information, is composed of a number of text (.txt) files that are contained in a single ZIP file. Each file describes a particular aspect of transit information: stops, routes, trips, fares, etc. For more information about each file, consult the GTFS reference.

How often is the feed updated?
GTFS-RT (real-time) is updated and published every 30 seconds. GTFS (static) is generally published every week or two but sometimes more frequently. While we generally only make service and schedule changes in batches a few times per year, the feed can be updated for long-term reroutes, as holiday schedules approach or intermediate planned changes to service are about to be implemented.
