COMET'S MAURICE PEARL ELECTED VICE PRESIDENT OF TRANSPORTATION ASSOCIATION OF SOUTH CAROLINA (TASC) BOARD
(June 17, 2025) Columbia, SC --The Central Midlands Regional Transit Authority (The COMET) is proud to announce that Executive Director/CEO Maurice Pearl has been elected Vice President of the Board of Directors for the Transportation Association of South Carolina (TASC). The election took place earlier this month, with Pearl being selected to serve a two-year term alongside other newly elected officers.
"I am honored to serve the transportation community across South Carolina in this new capacity," said Pearl. "TASC plays a vital role in advocating for public transportation throughout our state, and I look forward to working with fellow board members to advance mobility solutions that connect people to opportunities and improve quality of life for all South Carolinians."
Pearl brings his extensive public transit experience and operational expertise to the TASC Board, where he will help guide the organization's mission to advocate for essential mobility services that provide access to work, healthcare, education, and community services. His leadership at The COMET, combined with more than 20 years in public transportation, positions him well to contribute to TASC's vision of elevating public transportation and supporting economic growth throughout South Carolina.
The Chair of The COMET Board of Directors, Allison Terracio, expressed support for Pearl's new role within the broader transportation community.
