The COMET is a transit system for everyone — from tourists, families, students and professionals to seniors, those in food desert areas, those with disabilities and everyone else in between. It's safe, affordable and convenient to hop on! We offer plenty of programs and services to take you where you need to go across the Midlands.
The COMET has routes to top attractions across the Midlands, from the Riverbanks Zoo to the South Carolina State Museum and more.
Students in select partner districts and campuses across the Midlands can ride The COMET for free with a valid student ID.
Blue Bike SC
We offer bike stations across Columbia so you can ride your way across the city on Blue Bike SC. COMET riders get a code for free sessions on Blue Bike SC.
The COMET partners with FoodShare SC to offer affordable boxes of fresh fruits and veggies at COMET Central.
Certain businesses receive free fares for their employees through a partnership with The COMET.
The COMET on the GO!
This program makes it easy for those in food desert areas or traveling their first mile/last mile late at night to access The COMET through discounts with Lyft.
DART is The COMET's on-demand paratransit service for eligible riders with a disability.
The COMET Volunteer Transportation Reimbursement Program (V-TRIP) and Pick-Up Program (PUP) make transportation across the Midlands more accessible for people 65+ or with a disability.
Skip parking fees and catch a ride to Williams-Brice Stadium on USC gamedays on the Gamecock Express.
Choose a more eco-friendly commute by forming a vanpool group with your coworkers for rides to and from work.
The COMET is a member of the National Safe Place Network. Through this program, The COMET connects youth in need to resources and services in the Greater Columbia area.
A service powered by The COMET to provide free transportation around the USC campus to USC students, faculty and facility members with a valid Carolina Card.
