Surplus Items

The Central Midlands Regional Transportation Authority (The COMET) utilizes the services of the South Carolina State Surplus Property Office (SPO) for the public sale of surplus items and the online auction of vehicles/materials/equipment. Public auction items for sale can be viewed at the SPO warehouse located at 1331 Boston Avenue, West Columbia, SC 29170.

Online auction opportunities will be listed on SPO’s public website via a link to GovDeals, a Liquidity Services Marketplace. Online bids may only be submitted via their Online Auctions link. The items available for public sale through the State Surplus Office do not specify the original agency owner of the items.

It is not necessary to register to view the State Surplus website. However, free registration is required to bid on equipment posted for online auctions via GovDeals.
