See Something! Say Something with ELERTS!

May 16, 2019
The COMET riders can now quickly and easily report safety and security concerns directly to The COMET operations staff, using ELERTS incident reporting platform. Text-A-Tip is one more element of the See Something, Say Something program introduced April 8th. By simply texting to 803 828 0950, riders can discreetly report suspicious activity, vandalism, graffiti, disruptive behavior and maintenance issues. A photo may be attached to the text message, to show The COMET exactly what is being reported.

With ELERTS Text-A-Tip service, citizens and employees may use their mobile phones to submit incident reports with photos and to engage in a 2-way chat with an agency dispatcher. The COMET Rules of the Road is the key driver behind the See Something, Say Something program, which discourages disruptive behavior on The COMET. The COMET contracted in 2018 with City of Columbia Police and Richland County Sheriff’s office to have uniformed Police Officers ride our bus and patrol the transit center. Detail here: www.elerts.com
