(December 12, 2019) Columbia, SC – The COMET is helping make the busy holiday season easier this year with two trolleys returning to the Soda Cap Connector for the free downtown route.

“We’re excited to be able to provide this easy service to the people of Columbia and the visitors to our city,” said John Andoh, Executive Director and CEO of The COMET. “Using the trolleys will enhance the experience of exploring and shopping in downtown Columbia, West Columbia and Cayce in a fun and interesting way. We hope that the excitement of a trolley ride encourages more people to take advantage of this great service.”

The service is free to ride and operates Sunday thru Wednesday 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. and Thursday thru Saturday 9 a.m. until Midnight.

“Supporting small businesses is so important and it’s easy to do if you take The COMET,” said Matt Kennel, CEO of the City Center Partnership. “Taking the trolleys means less congestion during the busy holiday season and not having to worry about parking while shopping.”
