THE COMET OFFERS CONTEST TO WIN DINNER AND TICKETS TO SEE TRUSTUS PLAY

 (February 12, 2020) Columbia, SC – The COMET is hosting a contest promoting the Soda Cap Connector Trolley. The winners will be entered in a drawing to win a dinner and receive a pair of tickets to see “A Streetcar Named Desire” at Trustus Theatre on Wednesday, Feb 19 at 8 p.m.

To enter one must take a selfie on the Soda Cap Connector bus or trolley and share the post via Facebook by Tuesday, Feb 18 at 6 p.m. Entrants must first “like” the page, which can be found on Facebook @CatchTheCOMET.

The COMET is encouraging Midlands residents to experience the thrill and novelty of a trolley ride while enjoying dining and entertainment in the city center. The Soda Cap Connector is an easy and fun way to travel.

“When George Fulton contacted us about needing a photo of our Soda Cap trolley for the poster he was developing for the play, we thought it would be great to partner with Trustus Theatre for a co-promotion”, said Marketing and Public Information Officer, Pamela Bynoe-Reed. “We connected with Chad Henderson at Trustus and are thrilled to offer some lucky riders a night out on the town in appreciation for riding our beloved trolley.”

The COMET Soda Cap Connector is a simple system of three dedicated routes designed to connect you to Columbia’s major areas of interest, including the State Museum, The Vista, Main Street District, The State House, Five Points, Allen University, Benedict College, West Columbia, Cayce, Convention Center, UofSC and Segra Park.

To ride, look for Soda Cap signs and wrapped trolleys and buses for FREE travel between destinations. The route names appear on lit trolley and bus displays above the driver, and on the sides of vehicles. Service operates every 30 minutes, Sunday-Wednesday 9 a.m.- 6 p.m. and Thursday-Saturday 9 a.m. – Midnight.
