Emergency Ride Home Program
Hesitant to take the bus to work because you might need your car in an emergency?
The Emergency Ride Home program provides registered The COMET Routes 44X, 53X, 92X and 93X, as well as The COMET Vanpool customers with a taxi, Lyft or Uber ride home in the event of an unexpected emergency from work. For an annual membership fee of $20, you can register and get reimbursed up to four (4) emergency taxi, Lyft or Uber rides a calendar year. Think of it as “commuter insurance"!
Reimbursement-eligible rides include unplanned personal emergencies from work, such as:
- Personal or family illness
- Unscheduled overtime or extended work hours
- Transit or ridesharing vehicle breaks down or the driver is unable to make the scheduled trip home due to an unexpected work schedule or illness
